I partly blame the parents for this. It started way way back as a toddler.
that poor girl doesn't realize she IS the parent. i hope she's okay nowadays
This type of obesity is an eating disorder just as serious as bulimia or anorexia but it is not perceived in the same way, either by the general public or by medical professionals. I have been at both ends of the spectrum, so I'm speaking from experience.
Letting your child become this size is child abuse honestly.
This seems like one of the most healthiest weight loss camps. Therapy, cooking lessons, exercise in all forms. Discussing how to handle the home environment and triggers. It seems like these guys got it right
The thing that shocked me most from this is that the uk government allows children aged 13 to become full time carers?! What has our social care become
According to some websites, once she left the camp she gained back her weight and reached 567 pounds (40.5 stone) by 17. At 19, she was hospitalized after reaching 840 pounds (60 stone/341 kg). In 2013 after her hospitalization, she lost 230 pounds (155kg) However, after 2013 there has been no updates on her status on her weight loss journey. I rewatched this episode, and looking closely she has been obese since before her fathers passing; and she was put in such a harsh position "in adulthood" at such a young age that she blames herself for becoming obese and not her mother because she was supposed to "know better". Her mother is all bark no bite in terms of caring for her daughter. She wanted her daughter to change her weight but complained whenever her daughter wanted to better both herself and her relationship with her mother.
PARENTS ARE TO BLAME!!! i was a big teenager and begged my parents not to buy crisps etc but they did.. so i ate them! When i was 17 i went to tenerife to work and the weight dropped off me because I was in charge of what I ate
She is stronger than she realizes. What a great job she has done. Wishing her nothing but the BEST!!!!
after this episode Georgia had to move home with her mother when her stepfather was diagnosed with lung cancer she gained all the weight back and more. In 2015 her mother and dog died but she decided to improve her life instead of getting worse. She moved in with friends and lost nearly all the weight UBR did and article on her story this year. She is happy and healthy living out her 30s with people who care about her.
She had to look after her mum but then her mum managed without her for months when she was away.
Georgia flourished in this environment because she finally became the priority. She was able to be a child progressing to adulthood. Her mother, who was able to fend for herself during Georgia’s absence, has evidently impeded her daughter’s life since birth. And yet, bless her, Georgia has nothing other than love in her heart for her mum. A true beautiful soul. I’ve read the messages with updates, which I am dismayed don’t sound good at all. I wish this young woman the very best life and health ❤
Idk where she is now. I had a friend die at 19 and was just a bit smaller than her. Age doesnt matter when your this big, your heart can just stop
This is child abuse. If we found a 15 years old weighting 70 pounds it would be an obvious case of neglect and child abuse. This girl was not in charge of her food when she was 4 years old. And her parents are responsible for what they put her health trough. Shes alresdy diabetic at 15.
Her mom redecorating the room and trying to do the shopping and home food prep for the homecoming is really sweet. I have a feeling it's generations of poor adult modeling and maybe the cycle can be broken with this child and her children.
Thankfully, from 2025 news media updates, Georgia has lost over 600 pounds after reaching a high weight of 882. Georgia is now 32yrs old, employed and living independently. Unfortunately, her mother and dog passed away. Great job Georgia 💕
First time Georgia has been able to be a kid and have friends.
I love that most of the comments I have read have been kind......There are so many people on drugs, addicted to alcohol and stealing stuff.......I hate society attacking people just for being overweight.......People need to look at the own addictions before judging others,
What a sweet young lady ❤❤❤ bless her soul
For anyone who wants to know how she’s doing now: - she gained the weight back after going back to her mom. Her mom was an enabler, and she had no support. - her highest weight was 882 lbs (63 stone) - Now at 32 (in 2025), she is at a healthy weight
